Welcome English is an English Center that focuses specifically on hospitality English. We are for those in the hospitality industry who want to improve not only their English abilities but learn how to upgrade their hospitality skills as well.

Teacher Kai is the founder and head instructor of Welcome English. With over 13 years of hospitality experience, combined with his passion for teaching others, he decided to move to Vietnam, landing in Phu Quoc, to pursue his dream of teaching English overseas.

Because of the focus on Hospitality English, all lessons are geared toward the same ultimate goal, producing faster results and more confidence with each step. This, combined with instructors who have real-world experience and training, allow for activities and lessons based on real scenarios using real techniques taught at the world’s highest rated companies.

We focus on industry-specific English as a rule, however there are modules that are more job-specific, such as housekeeping verbiage, email-writing, and check-in/check-out procedures.

We offer a combination of 1-on-1, small groups (2-4 students), and large courses (8-10 students).

While we recommend more advanced English, we do offer more beginner-friendly sessions for those who have foundational English and understand the basics.

The number of students varies by session as well as the type of course. Generally, our larger classes have between 8 and 10 students while our small groups have between 2 and 4 students. We also offer private, 1-on-1 sessions.

We do not adhere to one specific method of teaching, believing that education is a fluid environment that requires flexibility and maneuverability. Further, every student is different: what works with one person may not work for someone else, so we tailor our methods to our sessions.

Yes, homework is assigned either on a weekly or by-session basis. While coming to class is obviously important, practicing at home and reinforcing the material outside the classroom is crucial to long-term internalization and success.

This varies by session type but generally there will be handouts or worksheets handed out, yes.

Yes, everyone is required to take a complimentary Needs Analysis placement test prior to being assigned to a session to ensure each student is placed appropriately, with other students of the same level.

If the instructor finds that a student is in a level that is either too difficult or too easy, the student can be moved if there is space in a more appropriate session
